About Us

a

It all started with the idea that architectural metalwork could be more interesting, more compelling, more art. Joseph Mross, founder of Archive Designs, set out to see what he could do, working out of a single bench in his garage. He created. Based on his striking designs and handcrafted aesthetic, eventually interest in his work increased to the point that his formerly one-person show needed other artists and crafts-people, so his father and sister joined in, along with crafty friends and curious artistic types.

Thoughtfully incorporating influences from Arts & Crafts, Rustic, Classic Styles, Modern and Steampunk, Archive Designs enjoys a growing reputation as one of the leading metalwork design and fabrication studios in the U.S., offering furniture, lighting and object design, architectural consultation and sculpture, in addition to its robust architectural metalwork design portfolio.

As Design Director and Founder, Joseph Mross brings twenty-five years of experience in residential design and construction and an education in Fine and Applied Arts, with and emphasis on metalsmithing and printmaking. His broad artistic background extends back into childhood with drawing, painting, sculpture, photography and animation.
